The importance
Before 1947, The world just recently stopped fighting in WWII. Learning from this tragic and risky event, the U.S. decided to be prepared for any other possible uprisings to cause such a war again. In order to do so, President Truman signed the National Security Act of 1947. This tore down some departments within the goverment, but brought up new ones to do jobs needed of the time. These departments included the much known CIA which has stood until the present time, helping the US through many hardships and missions.
